The Celebrity By Reality Joel
EPISODE 1
Jane occasionally shivered at the thought of Anuel’s touch on her delicate skin, her subtle imagination of his fully perfectly shaped lips gracing hers aroused Goosebumps all over her. “My world would be complete with you in it” she would often say to herself with a cheeky smile on her face, each time she scrolled through his Instagram feed and could not help but adore his perfect eyes, pointed nose, neatly trimmed beards on his square shaped face, tall but not too tall frame with his perfectly carved broad shoulder, “Oh what a Man” she would muffle under her breath, earnestly admiring him and wondering how only one man could look this good.
It’s a cold morning on the first day of June 2020. Jane would literally slip out of her bed on the first day of every new month by 6am to heartily render prayers for the month, but this time around she just laid tiredly and clingy to her favorite pillow, her eyes closed. She heard the Alarm go off on her ears but did not respond until it stopped and resumed again. She had made up her mind to let the Alarm ring until it decides to stop whenever it wanted to but slightly reclined in her thoughts when she could no longer hear the Alarm ring but the rhythm flow of a familiar masculine voice calling out to her.
“Jane, its morning already. Wake up” the voice said.
Her head still trying to process who voice called out to her, when she felt a really dense shadow of masculinity over her calling out out to her over and over again, she wondered why her body didn’t resist this Man but welcomed his every advancement, the hands of this stranger were so warm as it salaciously robbed against her arms, then a kiss followed – from the ample of her shoulder, slowly to her neck and now approaching her lips when she opened she opened her eyes to meet Sol., her cute fluffy puppy, starring at her, “So it was a dream” she muffled to her self . It was then she realized the small photo frame with her favorite picture of Anuel lying between the pillow pressed to her chest. It was also then she remembered she had gone to bed thinking about him the previous night but didn’t know how the photo frame got to where it was.
“Yes it’s a dream Jane, A dream you need to wake up from” her friend, Sophia said standing by the door. “We came to call you for breakfast and heard you calling out to Anuel in your sleep, who the hell is Anuel?”.
“Anuel? Did I call out to someone?” she asked, wondering when she did that , as deep as she could remember , it was her name she heard a stranger call out in her sleep not the other way round. She didn’t want Sophia to see the frame because Sophia would recognize the man in the frame, so she continuously pressed to the photo frame to her chest holding the pillow as she tried to get out of the bed, her shabby bid to hide Anuel’s photo frame flopped as her little secret, the frame, popped out from where it was hiding all along, sliding down to the floor. An even worse scenario played out when she tried to quickly pick frame only to realize, A naughty Sol had already got down from the bed , grabbed the frame and ran towards the door, to where Sophia was standing, “Sol! Bring that back! Sol!!’ before giving up because the photo frame had reached Sophia’s hand.
“Sol, why do you have to be so naughty?” she asked.
Sophia wasn’t going to look at the frame after retrieving it from Sol’s mouth. The frame had slipped from her hand the first time, Luckily she caught the frame in between her legs.
“Please be careful with the frame” Jane beckoned from the bed, where she sat.
It was Jane’s demonstrated move to save the frame when it mistakenly slipped from her hand the second time that had her wondering what was on the frame and there it was, right before her eyes, A photograph of Anuel Obinna Okereke – One of Nigeria’s finest Male Celebrity to grace the Movie & Entertainment Industry, The CEO Of Anuel’s Petroleum with branches scattered all over the country, trapped in that wooden frame.
“Wow…Is this not Anuel O. Okereke, wetin him picture dey do for your frame?” Sophia asked in between giggles.
“Give me back the frame please” Jane said, arranging her hair and packing it with the white hair band before she slipped out of the bed to retrieve the frame.
“No I wont! Come and take it” Sophia said before dashing out of the room with Sol behind her, she eventually followed them.
All three of them were having a silent breakfast, Jane and Sophia on the dinning table with their plates full with Jollof rice and fried chicken in front of them, while Sol struggled with 2 pieces of hot dog in her fancy plate. The silence had lasted for too long when Sophia decided to speak and Jane tried to reach for the frame across the table. “Stop! And eat your food” Sophia stopped her, seizing the frame and placing it on her laps because it was closest to her.
“Don’t command me , I am not a kid”
“Yes you are not a kid, you are 22, that’s why you should grow up and stop this craziness over a celebrity that doesn’t know you” Sophia snapped.
“I love him” Jane admitted.
“No you don’t love him, you are just not outgrowing your foolishness…its okay to be a fan. You are ruining the fun of famzing him with these extra stuff you are doing”
“Chill…Its not that serious”
“That’s what you said when you got this frame and pictures of him on every page of your diary , same thing you said when you went to his Movie premiere and cried for days when they didn’t let you see and take pictures with him, If I had not stopped you from tattooing his name on your hand you’d still stay its not that serious”
“Do you realize I am a grown Woman?” Jane asked, scooping a spoon of rice into her mouth afterwards.
“Yes I do” Sophia replied,”A grown Woman without sense” she added. They both broke in to a small round of laughter seconds later,”I think its time we talk about this already, because its obvious you are loosing your mind” Sophia concluded .
“A senseless me I stan.” Jane said. She took to gulping down the content her glass of juice until it was empty and she looked up to Sophia and said, “We find love in the most hopeless places sweet heart, and this is me loving a man that doesn’t know me with no remorse, I feel we have a connection and we could be a thing”
“How do you love someone you’ve only seen on screen interpreting a role and on your Instagram App, it just doesn’t make sense to me”
“It doesn’t really have to make sense to you, you can just sit by the side and watch”
“Really?”
“Yes”
“Okay then, lets see where this infatuation leads to”
“I wouldn’t call that infuation if I were you, And if you ask me why, I would say its because you have never really being in love” Jane said. Looking up to meet a dumb founded Sophia, she quickly understood Sophia wasn’t having the joke with the expressions of her face, “Bad joke” she added, simultaneously nodding her head in self-agreement.
“Seriously? Bad Joke? That was so intentional!! Well, Okay. Na here I dey.” Sophia said not wanting to stretch whatever conversation they were having. Their respective plates were almost empty and a warm silence eluding the atmosphere. They literally ate their food waiting for the each other to pick up a new topic until Jane’s phone beeped – It was a notification from Instagram. She tapped on the instagram notification and it flew her straight to the inbox of the sender, the message read;
”Congratulations Jane!! You have

– Your’s…
Anuel
A seemingly perfect and silent atmosphere suddenly transpired into a crazy benevolent celebratory wing with Jane all over place screaming, ”Finally!!!’ at the top of her voice, throwing the innocent throw-pillows all over the sitting room, subtly scaring poor Sol to hiding, there was immense Joy in her spirit, she threw herself on the couch in excitement.
“Abeg make we hear word, Finally what?” Sophia asked, Smiling and at the same time very much confused.
“I’d be going on a Dinner Date with my Anuel!! I was picked to go see a movie premiere!!” Jane screamed.
“You have got to be kidding me” Sophia said.
“See!!!” Jane screamed, waving her phone displaying Anuel’s message at Sophia’s face,”That’s his freaking official page sending me a dm, that’s the blue tick right next to his name!! What Infatuation has put together, Sophia Achike do not put asunder!!”
