The national broadcasting Commission in nigeria has reportedly suspended channels Tv over an alleged breach of broadcasting code. According to NBC, Channels Tv is being suspended over an interview they had with the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra.
In a statement released by the commission “The National broadcasting commission, NBC has suspended channels television with a fine of five million nails for breaching broadcast code.
In a letter to the managing director of channels television signed by the acting director general of the commission, NBC, Prof, Armstrong idachaba, the commission referred to channels 7pm live broadcast programme on sunday, 25th April, 2021. Which it accused the Tv station of allowing the leader of IPOB to make secessionist and inciting declarations on air without caution or reprimand by the station contrary to the broadcast code.

NBC released an official statement to the general public, giving reasons and a fine of Five million naira. The NBC accused Channels Tv of allowing the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra “IPOB” to make declarations of Secession on air without Caution or reprimand despite them being proscribed by a court of law.
The NBC also said that channels television is being suspended and fined for allowing the guest speaker of the indigenous people of biafra “IPOB” to make derogatory, false and misleading statements about the nigerian army, despite being proscribed by a court of law.
This however has raised the eyebrows of most nigerians, as to why the TV station is being suspended over granting and interview to the leader and the guest speaker of IPOB. Many are asking if the statements made by the individuals were true and the government trying to cover their tracks.
The situation of the country is so far turnig into what nobody can explain, the prices of food items are increasing on a daily basis, lack of employment opportunities for the youths, insenstivity from the buhari led administration.
